In 1991 I spent a season at Apple Computer in Cupertino, where I first worked on an experimental film with their Advanced Technology Group, then became a guest at their Imaging Evangelism lab.
The Evangelism operation occupied an entire floor. I spent most of my time in a small room packed to the gills with one of everything that could make pictures with an Apple computer.
This included commercial imaging programs, which back then were still pretty much a novelty. I was in awe that the software had actual manuals I could refer to.
